What we can help with :-
You are standing in front of a pile of half-empty moving boxes thinking what to bring, what to leave – does this sound familiar? Moving abroad, especially for a longer period of time, is never an easy feat.
A lot of people want to bring everything they own to their new home abroad. Not only is it a reminder of home, but it creates comfort and helps you to get accustomed to the new situation. However, it can easily turn into chaos.
The sooner you start on your inventory list before moving overseas, the better. Go through your house and make a list of all the items you want to take with you, leave in storage, sell or throw away.
Your goods can be transferred by air and sea, although the latter is a longer process. Consider the options by looking at cost and time.
Scaling down as much as possible will be a lot easier in the long run, though permanent moves should include essential items things with sentimental value, and important documents. Anything that can be easily replaced at a low cost can possibly be donated or sold before your move.
Before relocating, you need to consider what to take. For example, you will want to think about the associated moving costs against buying in your new country. For example, weigh up the option of buying a new car or bike versus bringing yours with you, if you'll need it at all (a big city often offers public transportation). In most countries now there are costs to changing your cars registration, at Elys Relocation we can advise on whether this is necessary for the country you have chosen to move to.
What about pets?
Even when we love our pet companions as family members, for some people deicing whether to bring their furry companion along on their international adventure is a very legitimate worry. This may be especially the case when moving solo for a work assignment. Thinking about whether you will be able to appropriately care for your dog or cat in a new city, whilst juggling a new work or travel schuedle, speaks of a responsible and loving pet owner, not of a selfish person who would rather have the easy way out.
Let us make this easy, tell us a little about your future project and we will supply you with three quotes from reputable removal companies.
